HistoryInsulation For Life, Ltd. Co. (IFL) opened its doors in January of 2002. Started by young and ambitious Christine & Brian Flage, the company has realized steady growth since its inception. We have a passion for helping people create the healthiest most energy efficient home possible. Out of sincere concern for people with allergies and asthma we dedicate significant time and resources to educating builders and consumers about the systems approach. The home must function as a system to get all of the health and energy efficiency benefits (see Building Science). Traditional insulation, such as fiberglass (itchy pink stuff) and cellulose (ground newspaper), simply don’t have any health benefits and they have limited energy saving benefits. Icynene is a unique insulation product. It is sprayed in as a liquid then expands 100 times into a soft plastic foam. The foam offers a continuous protective barrier around the building. Growing concern about the environment, energy costs, mold and indoor air quality has fueled the company’s growth. As Frisco residents who are very concerned with indoor air quality in schools, Christine & Brian met personally with Frisco Independent School district in 2002. Frisco Independent School district now utilizes Icynene in all of its new schools in order to prevent mold growth inside the walls and save energy. IFL has made many great strides in the commercial market with projects such as: schools, churches, libraries, hospitals, and office buildings.
